I get so many emails and messages a day asking about my different techniques from lighting to what kind of actions I use. So I thought I'd find this old blog I started a year ago and finally post something.
I'm not really sure where I am going to go with this blog, if anyone will follow it or find it useful if they do. I guess the best place to start is with a photo and a little background about the process from beginning to end.
I was heading a couple hours away for the weekend and since I knew I had some time to kill while I was there reached out to a couple local models and offered to do a free shoot (I don't really like the term TFP because it's kind of out dated...time for print? trade for print? trade for photos? none of it really makes sense to me so I don't use it). I digress...so all three show up. No MUA (make up artist), no stylist, no wardrobe, no fashion consultant. I just trusted the girls to wear something 'high fashion' and I think they did just fine.
Equipment used for this image: A Canon T2i and a single Yongnuo 560II (fired with cyber syncs).
This was taken around 10am and it was already really bright out and really hot (probably around 90 degrees). I just kind of moved around the pool with my single bare flash on 1/2 on a 6' stand and left the camera on manual....settings somewhere around F/12 and 1/200
